Q. Do volunteers need experience?
A. Volunteers need to have a genuine love for the older adult. Interaction with the participants requires patience and the ability to converse with individuals whose response may sometimes be limited.
Q. How much time am I required to work?
A. Volunteer hours are generally 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM. The program hours are from 11:00AM – 3PM. We ask that our volunteers to commit to at least two days per month. The Center is open Monday through Thursday with the exception of major holidays.
Q. What would I do at the Center?
A. Help engage memory-impaired participants in the day’s activities.
A. Assist with socialization and offer compassion and reassurance to the program participants.
A. Support the staff in providing a loving, caring, and safe environment.
