LARC is a licensed, supervised, social adult day care program that serves adults with mild to moderate memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. The Center opened in 1997 and became licensed as an Adult Day Program in 2007. LARC supports families seeking to help a loved one remain happy, active and safe while living at home for as long as possible.

LARC’s paid staff and its caring, trained volunteers work to promote the highest level of supervised activities to foster dignity and self-worth in our participants. By understanding and tracking the changing needs of each participant, the staff assists each participant to have their best day possible.

In addition, in order to maintain the highest skill level and to stay abreast of current best practices, the staff receives ongoing training and education.

LARC is set up to serve as many as 15 participants per day in each of our program rooms, and will maintain a waiting list when necessary. The Center successfully meets the needs of cognitively impaired participants by providing a safe, supportive and interactive environment. We promote peer interaction and maximization of skills for the participant. Importantly, we provide caregivers much needed respite and support.

To further assist caregivers, LARC hosts a weekly Caregiver Coffee on Tuesdays from 11:00AM – 12:30PM. All are welcome to share their experiences in a caring and supportive environment.

LARC is open weekdays from 11AM to 3PM. We welcome all families. Since 1997, we have lovingly cared for hundreds of East Bay families.
